Ken Davis
Founder | Owner
Ken Davis is the Founder and CEO of The FC Group Inc., the parent company of First Choice Communications Inc. (FCC) and First Choice Strategic Marketing Inc. (FCSM).
Ken began his career working for a global tobacco company for 18+ years, utilizing that great opportunity to gain exposure and experience in all aspects of the Marketing & Sales of a highly legislated product. That controlled environment forced Ken to think of creative & unorthodox ways to reach the brand’s consumer. The constant challenge of developing innovative ideas and “point-of-difference” approaches led to Ken eventually leaving corporate life to start his own company over 28 years ago.
Since their conception, both FCC and FCSM’s primary goal has been to actively move PEOPLE to product / services and BRANDS to their end-users. Our focus and expertise are consumable goods, key distribution channels and extraordinary event experiences.
Always striving for alternative ways to engage his client’s consumers, Ken developed “The Ambassador Program”, a truly innovative concept that utilized the minds and creativity of his client’s customers. Ken learned early in his career that there is nothing more relevant to help influence and define a Brand within its target market than the target market themselves. This concept was adopted by Ken’s client and has been successfully running for over 10+ years, an achievement rarely seen in the marketing world!
Proving this was no fluke, Ken took this successful formula to Ireland where he aligned with a leading tobacco company, playing an instrumental role in opening up a new channel and event platform for them.
Recently, Ken has taken up the game of golf, albeit with an alternative approach to the game, including his own, unorthodox rules! ….and he’d have it no other way, as he says “why change now?!”
Matt Davis
President
Matt has been with the company for over 12 years. He has had the privilege of working on many unique projects with an amazing team since day one. When he’s not grinding it out at the office he enjoys golfing and heading north to Lake Simcoe to spend time with his family at the lake and fish with his kids.
Stephanie Smith
Managing Director
Stephanie has 15 years of event experience, producing events in Canada and beyond! She has a degree in Popular Culture from Brock University. Stephanie is also a certified Personal Trainer and loves to travel, read, work out and anything and everything food and drink related!
Carol Donnenfield
Director of Operations and Administration
Carol started with The FC Group 25+ years ago as the frontline contact for both customers and suppliers.
Carol supports FC, our amazing team and all of our customers with many years of Customer Service and liaison techniques by always being friendly, helpful and keeping a sharp eye on all the details necessary to ensure we provide the best marketing initiatives.
Carol multi-tasks and manages all of our office administrative and accounting needs.
Through many years of experience, building invaluable relationships and working closely with all, no detail is left unchecked!
When Carol isn’t keeping everyone in line, she loves to paint, cook & read (not all at once of course)!
Melanie Clarke
Activation Manager
Melanie has 12 years of marketing and event planning experience. She has a diploma in Fashion Marketing and Merchandising from the International Academy of Design. When Melanie isn’t working she enjoys gardening, snowboarding, fashion, extreme organizing, minimalism, home improvement and decorating.
Charline Dann
Event Activation Manager
Charline has been working in the marketing and event industry for 11 years with 4 years being at The FC Group. She has a BA Degree from Queen’s University in Kingston and a Post Graduate Certificate in Event Management from Humber College in Toronto. When Charline isn’t running Events she likes to tear it up in the kitchen and relax at her cottage with her family and her chocolate lab Samson.
Kailee Somers
Event Activation Coordinator
Kailee has always had a passion for events, and has been working in the marketing and events industry for the past 7 years. She has been an Event Activation Coordinator with The FC Group for the past 2 years, executing events across Canada. She loves sports, traveling and the outdoors - and spends her spare time camping, hiking, and exploring new places. She has lived in Australia and England, and her favourite destinations to visit have been Hawaii, Bali, and Costa Rica!
